Maruti A-Star Launched

Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited unveiled the much-awaited, World Strategic Model, A-star.

Powered by the new, state-of-the-art, light weight, 998cc K10B petrol engine, A-star is the best in class fuel-efficient car with a mileage of 19.59 kilometers per litre, as tested by ARAI, Pune, country’s premier automotive research agency.

Volkswagen hopes high from India’s car market

Defining Volkswagen’s experience in India as positive, Joerg Mueller, Volkswagen India President and Managing Director, presenting on ‘Big Bets on Technology and Manufacturing’ at the 24th India Economic Summit outlined his views on how the Indian economy is expected to bounce-back over the medium-term and the growth prospects he sees emerging from the country. The summit took place in Delhi between 16th & 18th November and was organized jointly by the World Economic Forum in cooperation with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Hyundai-Kia bags Car Company of the Year award

The UK’s oldest motoring magazine, Autocar, has named Hyundai-Kia as its Car Company of the Year at its annual award ceremony at the Horticultural Halls in Westminster London.

Citing the Korean giant’s “mind-blowing” ambition, editor Chas Hallet presented the title to Mr. Nam-Yong Kim, President of Hyundai-Kia’s European Research and Development Centre in Germany.
